Steve and Mary E., Named Best Acoustic Duo 2015

Steve Champagne and Mary E. Rapier-LaLuna aka as Steve and Mary E., were recently named as "Best Acoustic Duo" by the Kankakee Area Music Awards. Chosen for their rich harmonies, classic acoustic vibe, and contribution to the music scene of the Kankakee County Area.
Steve and Mary E. performed for a sold-out crowd of over 500 people April 10, 2015 at the beautiful historic Majestic Theatre in downtown Kankakee Illinois. They were among many other industrious musicians from as far away as Taipei Taiwan to celebrate the roots, stems and branches of the musical tree from Kankakee.
Their 10 or so minute set included: Norwegian Wood, (Beatles' cover) an original wrote by Mary E., and arranged by Steve, titled "Laughin' or Drunk Dial" a sweet reminiscent song, in the vein of country, dedicated to all the little sisters in the house, the Dusty Springfield classic, "Am I the Same Girl" and the Little Rascal's hit, "How Can I Be Sure."
Although Steve and Mary E.,  were honored by Mary's hometown of Kankakee, they now call Michigan City home. One might say that anywhere they plant and sing, is home to them. Music is home! You can discover more about their music by visiting them on Reverbnation, where they have maintained a leading position for some time. Wonderful opportunity to enjoy great music, fine food, drinks, neighborhood fun and community every Tuesday Night! Ryan's Irish Pub is a quaint, yet grand neighborhood hang out on the corner of Franklin St. and and restaurant in an old world structure that boasts the large neighborhood pubs of days gone by. Located on the corner of Franklin St. and 4th Ave., in the heart of Michigan City Indiana only a "stone's throw" from beautiful Washington Park and Lake Michigan. The large 3 story building is reportedly haunted as it has seen many a decade of travelers and the locals who will be the first to admit that there is something very special about Michigan City Indiana. Johnny's finger picking style guitar playing and broad vocal range will capture his listeners attention and hold on to it like he holds effortlessly on to his guitar. It doesn't matter whether he is covering Dylan, Beatles, or his originals, he is a passionate, professional! Every Tuesday night beginning at 7pm, cst, you can catch Johnny play you a song, while you enjoy quality pub food, and libations served by Scott the bartender and served up by the kind spirited Christine.
